Canablast can build both packaged and field-erected blast rooms with recovery options ranging from "sweep and shovel" hoppers to full recovery floors supported by media wash and recycling systems.

Vibratory and screw-type floors are both available. We also design and build custom rooms capable of meeting your most exacting production requirements.

Specifications

Canablast uses a pit-less blastroom. Its development into the current technologically superior blastroom concept, using a unique pneumatic abrasive recovery and recirculation system, consolidates Canablast's blastroom designs as more efficient than mechanical recovery methods.  When the abrasive has reached the Waffle-Floor, it is continuously sucked away, cleaned, separated from any dust and debris and recycled. It is a system that surpasses all others.

These are the advantages of the Canablast blastroom:

§   No moving parts in contact with the abrasive, so very little maintenance is needed.

§   No excavation necessary for installation - saving time and cost and facilitating relocation.

§   Employs a uniform downdraught ventilation system to maximize operator visibility.

§   Provides an improved working environment and reduces operator fatigue.

§   Enables changeover of abrasive size or type; ferrous, non-ferrous and non-metallic abrasives can be used.

§   Recirculates only clean abrasive thus ensuring uniformity of finish and maximizing output.

§   Floor cannot block, so downtime is minimized and output maintained.

§   Allows subsequent paint or zinc metal spray, serving a valuable dual-purpose and saving space.

§   Long life – proved throughout industry.

Blastroom Characteristics:

§   Incandescent or Fluorescent lighting

§   Double hinged swing out loading doors or roll up doors

§   One personnel door with viewing window

§   One set of operator's gear, ventilated hood with belt air regulator, air purifier with interlocking air hose from purifier to belt regulator, optional.

§   Air blow-off hose with finger tip control nozzle.

§   Reclaimer with ASME approved pressure vessel, blast hose with carbide nozzle, on/off blast control.

§   Dust collector with automatic bag shakers.

A-Structure

Ruggedly constructed from heavy steel panels on a rigid framework.

B-Lighting

The lighting system has been designed to give an exceptional standard of visibility for the operator. It is provided by high efficiency lamps and special illumination can be arranged if required.

C-Access

Robust bearing-mounted doors are fitted on free moving hinges with positive locking from inside and out. The inclusion of safety interlocks ensure that doors cannot be opened while blasting is in progress. Special access arrangements can be incorporated, including ramps, rails and bogies, low level conveyors or overhead monorails.

D-Waffle-Floor

An integral part of the overall construction and only 8 ins. (200 mm) deep - 12 ins. (300 mm) for the larger rooms. The floor can be reinforced if required, for extra-heavy loads.

E-Dust Collector

The fan provides both the ventilating airflow and the recovery of the abrasive from the waffle floor. Within the dust collector dirt and dust are removed from the ventilating airflow before it is exhausted to atmosphere. A wide variety of types are available to match user needs.

F-Recycler  (reclaimer)

The reclaimer collects abrasive from the concentrator, air-washes it to extract broken abrasive and any residual dust, and returns good, clean abrasive to the generator. This incorporates a pressure vessel to feed recycled abrasive into the main compressed air stream via the feed valve to the operator's blast nozzle.

G-Pressure Vessel

The CANABLAST model RC-66 Remote Control combined with the Pressure Vessel is used when the blaster is installed directly under a media storage hopper. When the operator releases the RC Handle, blasting action stops, compressed air is completely exhausted from the tank and the sealing plunger drops open to permit automatic refilling of the pressure tank. To begin blasting again, the operator merely activates the RC Handle, repressurizing the tank and restarting blasting action. RC-66 systems are available with pneumatic (RC-66-P) or electric (RC-66-E) control.
